St. Patrick’s Day
Saint Patrick’s day is a
cultural and religious celebration held on 17 march, the traditional death date
of saint Patrick the foremost patron saint of Ireland. St. Patrick, the patron
saint of Ireland, is one of Christianity’s most widely known figures. But for
all his celebrity, his life remains somewhat of a mystery. On St Patrick's Day it
is customary to wear shamrocks and/or green clothing or accessories the
"wearing of the green". St Patrick is said to have used the shamrock,
a three-leaved plant, to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Irish.
