Student Success Statement
1.    Born in the slums of Detroit, in deed poverty
2.    His mother and father divorced
3.    His mother came from a family of 24 children
4.    His mother could not read
5.    His mother raised ben and hos brother, Curtis
6.    Ben was the worst student in his grade school class
7.    Ben becomes top student in his class
8.    Ben becomes a world renowned  doctor

What I think this statement means is that you don’t have to live in poverty if you put your mind to work so you can study and not live in slums on welfare because you have to decide if you want to live in poverty or in a nice house in a good community.
