“I hated
poverty. Poverty is more of a choice than anything else, and I can change that
(poverty). It depends upon how hard I want to work, and I decided that I would
change it.”
Dr. Ben Carson
What I think this statement means
is that you don’t have to live in poverty if you put your mind to work so you
can study and not live in slums on welfare because you have to decide if you
want to live in poverty or in a nice house in a good community.
